Our Mission Statement
Founded in 2015, Montana Warriors on the Water (MWOTW) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, comprised of local sportsmen and women, and veterans of the United States Military, partnered with local businesses, communities, and organizations, providing outdoor recreational therapy and opportunities to veterans of the United States Military at no cost to them. In addition to honoring our veterans by giving back, it is our goal to provide an environment for our veterans to relax and be able to meet other veterans from across the country who may be combat wounded or suffering from issues associated with the psychological effects of war. By connecting with each other and with individuals, private companies, non-profit organizations and Government agencies, a community has been put in place to honor and support the vast growing number of veterans. Our goal is to ensure our veterans continue to have physical access to the country they served, in a mentally and emotionally stable environment, and are honored for their commitment and service to this nation. We at MWOTW are mission oriented in our objective to honor and support our nation’s veterans. In war, there are no unwounded soldiers. MWOTW replaces difficult memories with positive and encouraging experiences!

Montana Warriors on the Water is an organization that is an organization built out of love with genuine people who come together to support our Veterans. I was nominated to attend the first women’s fishing retreat at Fort Peck, and it was organized SO well, the entire team worked together making it a fun and relaxing getaway. The lodging was better than expected. The food was phenomenal. The activities were SO FUN! The fundraiser was a huge turnout. The fishing was not easy that particular weekend, but the team made adjustments and had still made the trip a great one. I now have more friends and am grateful for the opportunities they give to veterans. They put a lot of time, energy, and heart into these outings! I highly recommend!

When I showed up to Montana Warriors on the Water Veteran cow elk hunt. I thought it would just be a few days walking through the mountains and hopefully bringing home some elk meat. What I didn’t realize is it would be a life-changing event that would lead to lifelong friends and an experience that put me in tears as I pulled away from the EOB ranch on the last day of the hunt. MWOTW, you are the real deal when it comes to taking care of Veterans and Active military members. Thank you will never seem like enough. The hunt was a 5-day mental health reset for me, and I didn’t realize how bad I needed it. Memories that will last forever.

I recently had the honor of participating in the 2025 Fort Peck Tour fishing trip, and I cannot say enough good things about Montana Warriors on the Water. From the moment we arrived in Miles City, we were treated like heroes complete with police escort, and flag-waving patriots lining the streets. The local elementary students even wrote us letters of appreciation, which was incredibly moving.
The organization, volunteers, and members fed us like kings, but the world class Fishing was only half the story. The best part was the camaraderie; sitting around the campfire, joking, and sharing stories with fellow veterans from across the country creating bonds I’ll never forget. It is heartwarming to know that there are still such patriotic Americans dedicated to honoring our veterans. If you’re a veteran, I highly suggest you apply for this life-changing trip!
